MORNING

A perfect İstanbul morning starts in InterContinental Istanbul with a traditional breakfast. Our hotel is within a walking distance to Taksim Square and İstiklal Avenue. The cosmopolitan avenue is surrounded by an array of historical and politically significant buildings, such as the Çiçek Pasajı (Flower Passage) where small, intimate restaurants and taverns are found; Balık Pazarı (The Fish Market), also houses the most important fruit and vegetable market in Istanbul, Nevizade Street has scores of tables set on the street with the freshest fish in the city and loads of delicious mezes.

Throughout the time, different minorities and ethnical groups lived in Pera, therefore you can witness this great mosaic of cultures through synagogues, churches, passages and historical other buildings; the Roman Catholic churches of Santa Maria and St.Antoine, the Greek Orthodox Haghia Triada, the Armenian Church (among many other churches), Muslim Sufi Temple, several synagogues, mosques... At the end of the avenue, you will be mesmerized by Galata Tower, one of the oldest towers of the world.

Finally reaching to Galataport Istanbul, a new face of Istanbul for culture & arts, shopping and dining... You can have a sip of Turkish coffee at one of the trendy cafes in the popular district Karaköy. After a short walk crossing the historical Galata Bridge, you will feel “Where East meets West”: On the left, a big modern city and on the right, the old city with palaces and mosques.

AFTERNOON

At the end of the Galata Bridge you’ll see the Spice Market, 17th century building with it’s high ceiling and domes. Sometimes there is the smell of spice, sometimes the beautiful fragrance of herbal teas. Then outside, you’ll find yourself in the ancient district of Sultanahmet. Strolling through its parks and alleys you’ll find many marvellous buildings that testify to İstanbul’s long and glorious history – from the lavish Ottoman halls of Topkapı Palace to the world’s greatest church, St. Sophia and up to the Blue Mosque with its exquisite İznik tile interior. Finally feel yourself transported to the 1001 Nights at the ‘Kapalı Çarşı’, the oldest bazaar in the world. This has been one of the main attractions of İstanbul for everyone, to glimpse everyday life. You can visit the 300 year old Cağaloğlu Turkish Bath after shopping in Grand Bazaar, to refresh your body and soul. You’ll find different services, ranging from self-services option to a luxury body scrub, shampoo and massage.

EVENING

To end an Istanbul day, take a dinner cruise on the Bosphorus. Step on a boat from Kabataş pier and enjoy a night of Turkish entertainment. Finally, before you go back to your room, enjoy a magnificent and panoramic view of the Bosphorus as you sip your drink at the top of the hotel, City Lights Bar, accompanied with music...
